About the Role
The College Account Manager drives growth, profitability, and retention across a portfolio of higher education accounts while contributing directly to overall company goals. Serving as the primary strategic and operational partner, this role translates account data into revenue-generating initiatives, oversees custom order and website operations, and manages day-to-day client relationships to ensure long-term success.
Work Location: In-office to start, with hybrid options considered once established in the role.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management & Growth
- Develop and execute long-term growth plans to maximize revenue, margin, and account profitability while contributing to broader company goals.
- Analyze sales, profit trends, and account KPIs to identify opportunities for new products, services, and operational enhancements.
- Partner with client leadership to align business goals, deliver annual budget inputs, and present strategic recommendations.
Client Relationship & Communication
- Serve as the central point of contact for routine communications, policy updates, and issue resolution across all account levels.
- Host regular cadence meetings and business reviews with primary and executive college stakeholders to share best practices and performance metrics.
Operations & E-Commerce Execution
- Oversee online store launches, ensuring accuracy of content, promotions, marketing initiatives, and user experience.
- Manage product assortments and general merchandise rollouts tailored to each institution's cycle and audience.
- Process custom orders end-to-end, including quoting, sourcing assistance, and order placement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams (Marketing, Finance, Operations) to streamline workflows and launch campus-wide promotional events.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Customer Service: 4+ years of dedicated customer service or account support experience (Required).
- Software Proficiency: 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Excel experience; intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
- Relationship Building: Advanced skills in managing multi-level client relationships, maintaining retention, and resolving issues.
- Analytical & Technical Aptitude: Ability to interpret sales metrics, forecast performance, and continuously build skills in finance, marketing, and technology to support organizational objectives.
- Project & Time Management: Exceptional organizational abilities with demonstrated success managing concurrent product rollouts and store launches.
