Position Overview

MPG seeks a detail-oriented Account Manager to streamline processes and provide strategic support for its Drug Wholesale team. This role will drive high-level client engagement from start to finish, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring a strong, successful partnership. This position will collaborate closely with one of the teams top tier clients sales, replenishment, analytical, and subject matter experts to deliver data-driven recommendations that enhance sales, expand distribution, improve market penetration, and drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Performance

    • Lead collaboration with wholesalers and strategic downstream customers to implement promotional programs, gain POG distribution, assess distribution opportunities across the channel, and execute actions that improve product availability and sales out.

    • Demonstrate strong project management capabilities by effectively prioritizing competing initiatives, managing multiple workstreams, and driving projects to successful completion while consistently meeting deadlines.

    • Develop, schedule, and deliver category reviews on behalf of suppliers, communicating new item distribution opportunities and recommendations to downstream accounts to drive placement and sales growth.

    • Manage the Wholesaler portal to execute and implement item maintenance, promotions and image requests.

    • Develop and manage forecasts by analyzing allocation, cut, supply, shipment, sales, inventory, and POS data to support accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning.

    • Partner with supplier supply chain teams to align demand forecasts, inventory strategies, and seasonal ordering requirements to support product availability and business objectives.

    • Lead communications, calls and initiatives between Supplier’s internal downstream teams, such as Walmart/Walgreen’s/ Costco to understand suppliers needs and communicate them out to the wholesaler.

    • Monitor and interpret supplier reporting, including supply, allocation, shipment, non-shipped, and fill rate reports, to identify opportunities, address distribution challenges and mitigate risks, and support business performance.

    • Manage supplier trade funding to maximize return on investment (ROI), ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with strategic business objectives.

    • Take ownership of deduction management process – retrieving backup and clearing deductions in a timely manner.

    • Review business insights and trends to identify potential opportunities and risk

    • Perform and communicate account management maintenance tasks such as pricing updates, discontinued items, return authorizations, TOS updates etc.

    • Participate in annual Wholesaler Trade shows – identify Supplier assortment and manage offering process

    • Execute weekly and monthly business status updates to Supplier on Wholesaler performance

    • Collaborate/communicate with internal Supplier teams such as Sales Strategy, Brand Strategy, Supply Team, and various retailer sales teams

Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in data and sales storytelling
  • Effective and efficient project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, & keep projects moving
  • Demonstrates strong communication, attention to detail, and urgency in execution.
  • Robust knowledge of consumer products industry & category, brand, & retail strategies
  • Ability to listen, understand, & resolve competing priorities
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

    • 5+ years of account management experience. Experience representing a major manufacturer to the Drug Channel. Drug Wholesale COT experience preferred.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and other compensation programs.
