Account Officer (entry level/NYSC)
Job Summary
The Accounts Officer will support the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring proper documentation of financial activities. This is an entry-level role suitable for a recent graduate or someone with limited accounting experience who is eager to build a career in finance and accounting.
Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions accurately and promptly.
- Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and other financial documents.
- Assist with daily cash and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain proper filing and organization of financial records.
- Process supplier invoices and assist with payment preparation.
- Monitor and update accounts receivable and payable records.
- Assist with petty cash management and reconciliation.
- Support monthly stock reconciliation where applicable.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules.
- Ensure all financial documents are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
- Support payroll preparation and statutory remittances where required.
- Assist during internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Comply with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager or Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- NYSC completed or currently serving (where applicable).
- 0–1 year of accounting or finance experience. Internship or industrial training experience is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with accounting software is an added advantage.
