Job Summary
The AP/AR Specialist ensures timely accurate payment applications and invoices are processed and paid according to our Company policy and that any problems or questions relating to AP/AR are resolved or answered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review invoices for correct vendor, remit address, invoice number and payment amount.
Maintain positive relationships with company vendors and branches.
Apply lockbox and electronic payment receipts to AR invoices and GL accounts
Maintain accurate records of all applications and requests
Work with branch offices to resolve unapplied cash and credit balances
Work with branch offices to process customer refunds
Process write-offs
Maintain positive relationships with branch offices and customers
Prepare timely month-end closing activities
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service
Education and Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction or landscaping industry
Accounts payable processing skills
Understanding of debits and credits
Strong data entry skills, reconciliation capabilities and a knack for numbers
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
Experience producing error free and accurate work.
Strong work ethic
Effective oral and written communication skills
Attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of JD Edwards software a plus
Physical Demands/Requirements:
Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers
Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of time.
Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence.
Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.
Work Environment:
Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting and requires in-person presence.

Compensation Pay Range:
$25hr - $27hr
