Account Reconciliation Specialist/Lead

Functional Description:

• Performs daily and monthly account reconciliations.
• Performs monthly bank reconciliation.
• Perform daily and monthly banking needs as necessary using web based systems.
• Researches variances to ensure correct application of premium payments to appropriate accounts.
• Prepares backup and supporting documentation for premium payment reports as well as corporate accounting reports as necessary.
• Issues refund checks to clients.
• Assist with the preparation of contract required reports.
• Conducts research to respond to beneficiary questions/issues in payment accounts.
• Assist the Premium Manager and Operations Manager as needed.
• Assists with audits by providing supporting records and documentation.
• Oversees 3 premium agents

Education and Typical Years’ Experience

Minimum Experience Requirements

• Associate’s degree required. Relevant experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
• Two years of operations experience in financial and/or premium processing. Prior accounting experience.
• General knowledge of public sector contracting, delivery systems, managed care, human services systems and/or local and statewide political systems desired
• Knowledge and operations experience in Medicaid Managed Care and/or CHIP programs desired
• Work experience in call center, transaction processing and/or business process outsourcing services desired.
• Work experience with premium processing and/or lock operations.

• Ability to use MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook required. Knowledge of SAGE or other similar accounting software a plus.
