Accountant – Finance & Operations

Are you an Accountant who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and exploring how AI can make finance smarter?

Our client is looking for a hands-on, proactive and tech-savvy Accountant to join its lean finance team in Singapore.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys more than just managing the numbers. You'll take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, work closely with senior management and contribute to improving finance processes through technology and automation.

What You'll Be Doing

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage full-set accounts, bookkeeping and day-to-day financial operations.

• Handle accounts payable, invoice processing, payments, staff claims and reimbursements.

• Work closely with HR on manpower-related invoices and payments.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial reports.

• Prepare audit schedules and support statutory audits, corporate tax reporting and ACRA filings.

• Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).

Consolidation & Financial Management

• Support financial consolidation across entities, including a newly established holding entity.

• Manage intercompany balances and reconciliations.

• Support project profitability tracking and follow up on accounts receivable.

• Assist with budgeting, financial planning and grant applications.

Commission Tracking & Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with the Head of Finance and CEO to develop commission tracking for internal and external partners.

• Ensure clear and consistent communication regarding commission arrangements and payments.

• Collaborate with different departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

AI, Automation & Process Improvements

• Identify opportunities to streamline existing accounting and finance processes.

• Explore practical ways to incorporate AI tools and automation into daily finance activities.

• Work with existing accounting systems while suggesting improvements to efficiency and accuracy.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent; ACCA/CA is an advantage.

• 3–5 years of full-set accounting experience, ideally within a Singapore SME, start-up or regional group.

• Strong accounting and audit background, with knowledge of SFRS, Singapore GST and corporate tax.

• Exposure to financial consolidation and intercompany reconciliations.

• Experience handling multi-currency transactions, particularly SGD and USD.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero or similar accounting software.

• Advanced Excel skills.

• Exposure to AI tools such as Claude, or a genuine interest in learning and applying AI to finance processes.

• Familiarity with expense claims and Employer of Record (EOR) platforms is an advantage.

• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through and the ability to work independently in a small team.
