Accountant

We are seeking a full-time Accountant to perform account analysis, bank reconciliations, post monthly transactions and review monthly the general ledger posting of receipts and disbursements ensuring all allocations have been properly recorded and documented. A degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this position. This position is located in Cape May County, NJ.

• Reviews weekly the posting of cash receipts and cash disbursements, reviews allocations to programs and verifies proper documentation, follows up with staff as needed to collect needed information, prepares monthly the bank reconciliations for all cash accounts for Arc and CM Housing, reviews payroll for correct input of hours and allocation to programs, summarizes payroll reports and posts to general ledger, performs monthly closings per review and reconciles all balance sheet accounts;
• Identifies areas for improvement and recommends appropriate actions, reviews monthly budget reports and determines causes of material variances, proactively identifies trends and develops plans to reduce variances going forward;
• Prepares draft monthly financial reports for Chief Financial Officer review. Assists with the year end audit, preparation of grant reimbursements, and special projects as assigned by the CFO
• Assists in the process of weekly billing for all agency provided services;
• Generates reports for use in Revenue Cycle Management

Education/Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent and a degree in Accounting or Finance;
2. Three (3) years of experience in office environment performing accounting functions;
3. Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills;
4. Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail;
5. Experience with Microsoft Office/Excel
