About the Role

Vodstra Limited's client, a leading transportation and logistics company operating across Nigeria and West Africa, is seeking a detail-oriented, disciplined, and highly accountable Accountant to strengthen financial controls, reduce revenue leakages, ensure proper cash collection and lodgement, and maintain a fraud-free terminal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily financial activities at assigned terminals for policy compliance
• Identify, prevent, and report revenue leakages and financial irregularities
• Ensure all monies collected are accurately accounted for and lodged into company accounts
• Conduct daily cash reconciliation against tickets issued and sales records
• Follow up with Terminal Managers to resolve discrepancies and recover outstanding cash
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions
• Investigate discrepancies, shortages, and unusual transactions; escalate promptly
• Reconcile cash collections, bank deposits, accounts receivable, and petty cash
• Assist with bank reconciliations and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate accounting records using QuickBooks
• Support Management with financial information for decision-making

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Previous experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role
• Experience in transport, logistics, haulage, or other cash-intensive business is a strong advantage
• Practical experience in cash management, revenue reconciliation, and financial controls
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and other accounting software
• Ability to identify discrepancies and prevent revenue leakages
• Strong attention to detail and numerical/analytical skills
• High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
