Position Summary
The Accounting Advisory Senior or Supervisor (level will be determined based on experience) is responsible for managing complex accounting processes and delivering accurate financial information to clients. This role involves performing bank reconciliations to ensure cash balances are correct, reconciling balance sheet accounts to maintain the integrity of financial statements, and leading month-end close activities such as journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis. Additionally, the position requires creating and analyzing financial reports that comply with GAAP and client-specific requirements, while collaborating with clients and internal teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes. The Accounting Advisory Senior/Supervisor also plays a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting overall team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute complex accounting and advisory engagements for diverse clients.
- Review financial statements, journal entries, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Assist with client onboarding and relationship management.
- Oversee work performed by Associates and provide coaching and feedback.
- Perform technical research and draft clear, concise memos.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and add value for clients.
- Utilize ERP systems and accounting platforms (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Certification: CPA license or eligibility preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years in public accounting or industry accounting function.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting.
- Familiarity with tools like , Expensify, Ramp, Concur is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Entry Level Skills: Proficiency in handling complex accounting tasks, and consistently delivering high-quality work.
- Intermediate Skills: Ability to create a wide range of asset and liability reconciliation schedules, assemble complete financial statements with minimal supervision, and suggest journal entries with complete supporting schedules.
- Advanced skills: Demonstrating leadership potential by understanding scheduling of team members and allocating work; performing in-depth financial analysis and applying or researching complex accounting principles.
