ACCOUNTING ANALYST

An Accounting Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Accounting Analyst collaborates with various departments to provide insights that guide financial decisions, improve performance, and support budgeting and forecasting processes. Identifying trends, monitoring variances, and optimizing financial strategies, Accounting Analysts play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and driving operational efficiency. Their work ensures accurate reporting and informed decision-making to support overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analyze financial statements and reports to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement in financial performance.

2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations and standards.

3. Provide detailed financial insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making processes.

4. Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial reporting workflows and improve data accuracy.

5. Monitor accounting processes to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.

6. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries about financial data.

7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.

8. Support special projects and ad-hoc analyses to meet organizational needs.

9. Month-End Close: Assist with closing accounts, preparing journal entries, and posting accruals.

10. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve transaction discrepancies.

11. Variance Analysis: Analyze past financial data, project costs, and operational variances.

12. Budget Support: Assist management with preparing annual budgets and cash flow forecasts.

13. Process Improvement: Recommend workflow automation and maintain internal financial controls.

Qualifications and Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.

* 3 years of proven experience in accounting or financial analysis roles.

* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP or IFRS.

* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to present financial information effectively.

* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

* Time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
