Accounting Assistant (Tax and Compliance)
Responsibilities:
The Accounting Assistant for Tax and Compliance is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, processing, reconciliation, and submission of the Company’s statutory obligations and tax compliance requirements.
The position ensures compliance with the requirements of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund, including the preparation and monitoring of statutory contributions, loan remittances, reports, and related documentation.
The role also provides support in the preparation and processing of VAT refund claims, including documentary requirements, schedules, BIR coordination, routing clearances, and monitoring of claims until resolution.
The position is expected to maintain accurate records, meet regulatory deadlines, identify discrepancies promptly, and provide timely updates to the Finance Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
Statutory Contributions:
- Prepare and process monthly statutory contributions and loan remittances for:
SSS
PhilHealth
Pag-IBIG Fund
- Reconcile statutory payables with payroll records and general ledger balances
- Monitor employee loans (SSS and Pag-IBIG) and cash advances
- Ensure timely remittance and submission of statutory reports and payments
VAT Refund Preparation:
- Prepare VAT refund schedules for Sales and Purchases
- Compile and prepare documentary requirements for VAT refund claims in accordance with BIR checklist requirements
- Coordinate and process routing clearances with BIR Regional and National Offices
- Secure Delinquency Verification Certificates (DVC) from BIR Regional and National Offices
- Monitor the status of VAT refund claims and provide regular updates to Management
Accounting and Support Functions:
- Perform other finance and administrative tasks as assigned
- Monitor and track Finance tickets on a day-to-day basis to ensure timely resolution and proper documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any related course
- At least 1–2 years experience in tax and statutory compliance
- Proficient in MS Excel and basic accounting systems
Work Arrangement
- Work Setup: On-site
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 8:00 am flexi start time, should complete nine 9 hours work, inclusive of one 1 hour lunch break
