Role Context

The Accounting Governance & Internal Controls Specialist is responsible for monitoring strong financial governance, compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements across the SSA region. The role, supports risk management, and drives continuous improvement in audit, compliance, and governance practices.

The incumbent leverages risk-based auditing, advanced data analytics, continuous monitoring techniques, and business intelligence tools to proactively identify risks, control weaknesses, anomalies, trends, and opportunities for improvement. The role supports data-driven decision-making while fostering a strong culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence across the region.

· Good ERP reporting and analytics experience (SAP preferred).

· Experience extracting, cleansing, transforming, and analyzing large datasets from multiple systems.

· Other emerging audit analytics platforms

· Strong understanding of data governance, data quality controls, and reporting controls.

Minimum Requirements

Education & experience

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems.

· Data Analytics, or a related field.

· Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent.

· Additional qualifications or certifications in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Power

· BI, Audit Analytics, Data Science, or related disciplines will be a distinct advantage.

· Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in Finance Audit, Internal Controls, Compliance, Risk Management, or Financial Governance.

· Proven experience applying data analytics techniques to audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and continuous monitoring programs.

· Experience working in a regional or multi-country environment, preferably within Sub-Saharan Africa.

· Experience within logistics, express, supply chain, FMCG, or multinational organizations is advantageous.

· Demonstrated experience driving process improvements, governance enhancement, and analytics-based decision-making.
