Accounting Internship - Summer 2027

Objective:

The Accounting Intern will provide hands-on support to the accounting department by assisting with routine accounting functions and special projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who is pursuing a degree in accounting or finance and is interested in gaining practical experience in a professional accounting environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries under the supervision of accounting staff
  • Support the completion of account reconciliations, including researching and resolving variances
  • Assist with budget preparation and analysis, including compiling data and supporting schedules
  • Help maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies
  • Participate in month-end close activities and other ad hoc accounting projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines are met and information is accurate and complete
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with completion of foundational accounting courses at a minimum. Completion of intermediate and/or advanced accounting courses preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (coursework-level knowledge acceptable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Teams and Outlook; experience with accounting systems is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional environment

This is a paid summer internship opportunity located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Please note that housing or a housing stipend is not provided.
