Accounting Lead or Assistant Accounting Manager

Job Description:

We are a dynamic, growing multinational company seeking an experienced Accounting Lead or Assistant Accounting Manager to lead our finance team in Asia. This role will be responsible for accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and audit coordination for both the Thailand and Singapore offices.

Location: Rayong, Thailand or Singapore

Reports to: U.S. Accounting Manager

Team: Two direct reports

The position may be based in either Rayong, Thailand or Singapore, depending on the selected candidate. If the role is based in Singapore, occasional travel to the manufacturing site in Rayong, Thailand may be required. If the role is based in Thailand, travel to Singapore is expected only when there is a business need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, cash receipts and payments, general ledger, payroll, utilities, treasury, budgeting, fixed assets, debt management, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, transparent, and properly supported.
• Follow Global accounting processes and procedures as trained by Corporate Headquarters.
• Establish and maintain proper accounting methods, policies and controls for both BOI and Non-BOI activities.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation.
• Prepare management reporting, including revenue and expense variance analysis and provide clear feedback to department managers.
• Support the annual budget process and provide monthly budget tracking to department heads.
• Manage cash forecasts, cash flow reporting and loan agreement support.
• Coordinate with tax agencies and external advisors to support tax compliance, including GST, VAT, WHT, corporate income tax, and transfer pricing matters.
• Maintain accounting records, fiscal files, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate and support annual financial audits for both the Thailand and Singapore companies.
• Coordinate required filings with the Singapore company corporate secretary.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong knowledge of Thai Accounting Standards (TAS/TFRS)
• Knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Thai tax regulations including VAT, WHT, corporate income tax, BOI requirements, and transfer pricing
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting, financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, or forecasting experience.
• Prior experience as an Accounting Lead, Accounting Supervisor or Assistant Accounting Manager
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience related to BOI activities is preferred.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA or equivalent is preferred.
• Active membership with the Federation of Accounting Professions (TFAC), is preferred for Thailand-based candidates
• Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as required for accounting professionals
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. TOEIC score of 850 or equivalent is preferred.
• Fluent in Thai and English, including speaking, reading and writing.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word.
• Oracle EBS is preferred.
