Hiring Range

$91,000.00 - $125,125.00/Annual
Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
The Accounting Manager - Cash Management & Foundation is responsible for the accounting, reconciliation, and analysis of cash, investments, and donations, as well as other accounting duties as directed. This position works closely with both the Treasury Management and Foundation departments to ensure timely and accurate accounting, and to assist with the maintenance, improvement, and/or creation of internal controls.

What you will do
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting associated with, but not limited to, cash and cash equivalents, investments, and donor activity.
  • Review journal entries associated with bank account activity, including cash receipts, cash disbursements, and transactions related to bank lines of credit.
  • Maintain, improve, and/or create accounting-system reports to support bank reconciliations.
  • Lead and review the monthly bank reconciliation process, resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, and ensure controls are designed and operating effectively.
  • Support Treasury Management with debt transactions (e.g., interest accruals, covenant reporting, and new debt issuances).
  • Monitor pledge and donation activity; determine restrictions; review journal entries to record releases from restriction; and research relevant accounting guidance.
  • Assist with investment accounting, including reviewing journal entries, reviewing monthly roll forwards of account activity, and responding to ad hoc requests from Accounting and/or Treasury Management.
  • Run cash reports and partner with Treasury Management to understand, monitor, and analyze daily cash position and trends to support decision-making.
  • Assist with the creation and analysis of monthly statement of cash flows.
  • Analyze cash inflows from patients and other payors and compare them to recorded patient revenue.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, where necessary.
  • Support month-end close activities as part of the General Accounting department.
  • Support Treasury Management in various areas, including ad hoc reporting and bank account analysis.
  • Perform other accounting, finance, and treasury duties as directed.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelors Degree, Accounting/Business Administration (Required)

Experience
  • 5-6 years 5+ years of accounting experience (Required)
  • Nonprofit or healthcare experience (Preferred)
  • 2 years Supervisory experience (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong technical skills include data handling, analysis, and development and implementation of technological solutions
  • Strong communication skills suitable for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of COSO and the ability to design, maintain, or improve internal controls
  • Proficiency in Excel, accounting/financial software, and online banking
  • Knowledge of standard treasury policies and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supervising or leading a team in a professional environment
  • Experience with cash flow statements and analyzing liquidity metrics
  • Experience supporting external audits

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - The AICPA (Preferred)
