This role will support the finance and accounting organization in both the US and Internationally. The Accounting Manager will apply technical expertise and team collaborative skills in order to fulfil accounting objectives in support of the entire Aligned platform and associated data services. This support includes, but is not limited to: transactional accounting, financial close accounting, reporting and analytics, and accounting support system maintenance and administration. This role will be a member of the Finance and Accounting organization, but also collaborate with multiple internal Aligned key stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs and/or reviews transactional accounting functions across all areas including but not limited to: significant unusual transactions, lease accounting, fixed assets, prepaid and deferred accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and intercompany accounts.
- Manages and/or coordinates with operational accounting and financial reporting team members in support of internal and external audit requirements
- Assists with the evaluation of application of technical accounting rules against complex transactions
- Performs and/or reviews reconciliations in support of accounting records as needed.
- Analyzes general ledger accounts with assigned ownership for completeness, accuracy, and forecasting which may include amortizable accounts including prepaid or deferred balance accounts and / or fair market value accounts.
- Assists with preparation of financial statement footnotes as needed.
- Coordinates and performs assigned accounting control procedures and assists with designing and implementing improvement objectives.
- Assists with related special projects as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or Masters Accounting degree from accredited university.
- CPA Preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP Preferred.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, utilization and amortization figures, and percentages.
