JOB TITLE: Accounting Manager - Healthcare
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for managing, maintaining and analyzing accounting management information including developing manual/automated accounting applications. Ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare setting focusing on Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine. Experience working with a Physician owned primary care organization is preferred.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises assigned accounting staff
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
Provide excellent customer service (friendly, courteous and helpful) to both our internal and external customers.
Prepares accurate current period and year to date along with past year monthly and yearly figures on financial statements.
Analyzes reviews and adjusts income and expense information as to adequacy, form and source.
Maintains general ledger, including preparing financial schedules and creating journal entries for such items as prepaid and accrued expenses, interest income and expense allocations.

Maintains cash schedules, inspects account status, and transfers cash as necessary to cover disbursements.
Manages financial aspects of contracts and ensures financial requirements.
Develops and maintains additional financial reporting as requested.
Conducts reconciliations of balance sheet asset and liability accounts to ensure correctness. Identifies and resolves discrepancies.
Maintains amortization schedules for lease agreements, mortgages, bank notes, and bond premiums.
Completes reports for clinic profit-sharing plan including census data, payroll deductions, employee contributions, etc.
Evaluates revenue and expenditure reports.
Prepares required audit work and reports. Assists external auditors.
Assists with the selection, training and performance evaluation of assigned staff. Recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Participates in professional development activities.
Maintains strictest confidentiality.
The job holder must demonstrate competencies applicable to the job position.
EDUCATION: Baccalaureate in accounting, finance or related field.
EXPERIENCE: Full working knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Three years of professional accounting and management experience including one year in a health care organization.
SKILLS:
1. Skill in defining problems, collecting data, interpreting financial material.
2. Skill in preparing statistical and narrative accounting and auditing reports.
ABILITIES:
1. Proficient in Sage 100, including Visual Integrator and Intelligent reporting modules. Sage Fixed Asset, Microsoft Excel, DocLink, and other Microsoft Office computer software programs
2. Bank Reconciliation.
3. Experience in tangible tax and US census reporting.
4. Ability to perform mathematical computations and compute rations and percentages.
5. Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
6. Ability to communicate clearly.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Manual dexterity using calculator and computer
keyboard. Occasional evening or weekend work.
