ACCOUNTING MANAGER
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Accounting team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and supporting the Bank’s financial strength through sound accounting and investment-related practices.
The Accounting Manager will oversee a broad range of accounting functions, government and bank-required reporting, and holding company accounting activities. This person will also serve as a leader and coach, helping the team deliver high-quality work and exceptional internal and external service.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting team
- Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting standards, policies, and procedures
- Provide day-to-day leadership aligned with the Bank’s vision, mission, and core values
- Coach and support team members in delivering excellent internal and external customer service
- Perform and support key accounting functions, including:
- General Ledger review
- Prepaid expenses
- Accruals
- Depreciation
- Funds allocation
- Interbank liabilities analysis
- Sales tax
- Summary of deposits
- ALCO reporting
- Oversee investment activities, including:
- Balancing and managing the investment portfolio
- Maintaining pledging requirements for public funds
- Completing the monthly Liquidity Report
- Completing the FHLB QCD Report in accordance with federal regulations
- Prepare and file required regulatory reports accurately and on time, including:
- Quarterly Call Report
- Quarterly FR Y-8
- Semi-Annual FR Y-9SP
- Related regulatory reports
- Manage all accounting, operations, and reporting activities of the bank holding company
- Present financial information at committee meetings as needed
- Maintain current knowledge of banking, accounting, and management practices
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of banking experience
- 5+ years of accounting-related experience or equivalent educational experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting for financial institutions, including:
- GAAP
- Banking laws and regulations
- Regulatory reporting requirements
- Advanced financial analysis skills
- Advanced Excel skills or equivalent experience with financial software
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to lead a team, manage deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours based on business needs. Additional evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required.
