The Role
On-Site · Multiple U.S. Locations
Our Accounting Managers own the day-to-day accounting operation for a single operating company: the monthly close, internal and external reporting, controls, payroll oversight, and support of the annual audit. This is a hands-on, in-the-details role that partners closely with our regional finance team. Because our businesses are project-based, revenue recognition, job costing, and cash discipline sit at the center of the work. Scope and team size vary by operating company, and our recruiting team will walk you through the specifics when there is a match.
What You'll Own
- Close & reporting. Run the monthly close, deliver a fast and accurate flash, and continuously improve the speed and accuracy of the process.
- Project accounting. Manage revenue recognition and job costing for projects, and, where applicable, inventory management and cycle counts.
- Reporting & forecasting. Prepare the financial package and variance analysis, and manage a 13-week forward-looking cash flow forecast.
- Maintain and improve controls, budgets, and KPIs, and keep regulatory compliance clean.
- Work in the operating company's ERP and support system implementations and integrations alongside the regional finance team.
- Where a team exists, manage and develop the accounting staff; ensure accurate payroll, AR, and AP.
What We're Looking For
- Roughly 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with genuine hands-on ownership of the monthly close.
- Strong command of GAAP, with fluency in reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
- Experience running close and reporting across multiple entities, branches, or subsidiaries.
- Comfort in accounting systems (our operating companies run tools such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and ServiceTitan) with the ability to learn and work in new ones.
- Strong Excel and data-modeling skills, and the self-direction to bring structure to ambiguity without hand-holding.
Preferred: a public accounting foundation; project-based, construction, or inventory-heavy experience (job costing, WIP, cycle counts); prior experience supervising a small team; CPA.
