Accounting Manager

United Recovery & Remarketing (UR2) is seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to join our growing corporate team in Collierville, Tennessee. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading people, and wants to play a key role in supporting a dynamic, multi-state organization.

As Accounting Manager, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a multi-entity, privately held organization, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, develop staff, and partner with leadership to drive business success. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage the monthly and annual close processes for multiple entities.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of entity-level & consolidated financial statements.

  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

  • Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis and operational insights to leadership.

Multi-Entity Accounting Oversight

  • Oversee accounting operations for multiple affiliated companies, including intercompany transactions and consolidations.

  • Ensure proper allocation of shared expenses and reconciliation of intercompany balances.

  • Coordinate entity-specific reporting, tax support, and compliance requirements.

ERP Transition & Systems Leadership

  • Serve as a key accounting lead in the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite.

  • Partner with leadership, consultants, and cross-functional teams on ERP implementation activities, including data migration, process mapping, testing, training, and go-live support.

  • Develop and improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and reporting structures within NetSuite.

  • Assist in establishing standardized processes and best practices across all entities.

  • Support ongoing NetSuite optimization, reporting enhancements, and automation initiatives after implementation.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.

  • Establish performance expectations and support employee development.

  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented department culture.

  • Allocate workload and ensure department deadlines are consistently achieved.

Audit, Compliance & Controls

  • Coordinate annual tax preparation support.

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Support banking, insurance, and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Assist leadership with special projects as needed.

Starting pay $120,000-$140,000. Salary is negotiable based on previous experience and skills.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

  • Experience managing accounting functions for multiple companies or entities required.

  • Prior experience in a privately held or mid-sized company environment preferred.

  • Experience participating in ERP implementations or major accounting system transitions strongly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

  • Experience with or exposure to QuickBooks preferred.

  • Experience with or exposure to Oracle NetSuite ERP strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

  • Experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, and ERP system administration.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with multi-location or multi-division organizations.

  • Experience improving accounting workflows and implementing process automation.

  • Familiarity with tax, payroll, and multi-state compliance environments.

  • Prior involvement in ERP conversion projects, particularly QuickBooks to NetSuite migrations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, and walk/stand regularly
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks (e.g., stooping, bending kneeling)
