About Maximor

At Maximor, we’re building AI agents purpose-built for accounting teams at high-growth and enterprise companies. We automate and orchestrate high-effort accounting & financial reporting – helping teams get work done 10x faster with fewer manual excel juggling and audit-ready accuracy.

Under the hood, Maximor layers verifiable, AI sub-ledgers on top of existing ERPs to deliver reliable automation without requiring system migration.

We’ve raised one of the largest seed rounds in the accounting category from tier-1 VCs and experienced CFOs and Controllers who believe accounting automation must be accurate, audit-ready, and built by people who understand real close environments.

Maximor is built by accountants and engineers working together – not generic, black-box automation.

About the Role

Maximor is hiring an Accounting Solutions Consultant to sit at the intersection of accounting operations, customer workflow discovery, and solution implementation.

This is a hybrid role by design. You will be deeply involved in pre-sale discovery of a company’s current accounting processes, and you will also help translate our AI agents into a production-ready solution. At our stage, the same person must understand both what it actually takes to close the books correctly & how to map and explain AI-driven automation to real accounting workflows – and this role owns that bridge.

This role is built for someone who has lived in the trenches of accounting operations – as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior GL Accountant – and then made the deliberate move into the technology side: joining a solutions, implementation, or pre-sales team at a finance/accounting technology company. You understand the pain because you’ve felt it, and you understand the technology because you’ve helped deliver it.

What You’ll Do

  1. Pre-Sale Accounting Discovery

  • Partner with Account Executives to understand customers’ end-to-end GL and sub-ledger workflows, not just surface-level processes

  • Lead accounting-focused discovery sessions with Controllers, Accounting Managers, and Finance leaders

  • Evaluate ERP configurations, close processes, and accounting policies to determine:

    • What workflows can be automated cleanly

    • What requires configuration or sequencing

    • What should be explicitly out of scope

  • Define the minimum set of data access or accounting artifacts (e.g., NetSuite access, reconciliations, schedules) required to confidently scope functionality and pricing

  • Help shape solution design and pricing by balancing accounting accuracy, controls, and delivery feasibility

  1. Solution Design & Customer Implementation

  • Translate real-world accounting workflows into practical, automated solutions using Maximor

  • Configure Maximor to align with customer accounting policies, ERP structures, and close controls

  • Support pilots and early implementations with a strong focus on:

    • Accuracy

    • Reconciliation integrity

    • Audit readiness

  • Partner with Engineering and Accounting team to clarify accounting logic, edge cases, and expected outputs

  • Ensure what was established in pre-sale discovery is delivered correctly in production

  1. Product & Internal Impact

  • Act as the accounting authority internally, collaborating with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap decisions

  • Surface recurring accounting patterns, edge cases, and constraints observed across customers

  • Help define discovery, scoping, and implementation playbooks as Maximor scales

What We’re Looking For

The Ideal Background

  • 7–10+ years of combined experience across accounting operations and technology/solutions roles

  • You started your career in hands-on accounting – as a Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar – and have lived through complex month-end and quarter-end closes

  • You then transitioned into a solutions, implementation, or pre-sales role at an ERP, close management, or accounting technology company (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, BlackLine, FloQast, Workiva or similar)

  • You can speak fluently to both the accounting detail and the technology that supports it

Technical & Domain Skills

  • Hands-on experience with multiple enterprise ERP systems, ideally at least a couple of:

    • NetSuite

    • Sage Intacct

    • Microsoft Dynamics 365

    • Oracle Fusion

  • Experience working with close management tools such as FloQast or BlackLine

  • Practical exposure to sub-ledgers such as

    • Revenue recognition

    • Fixed assets

    • Prepaids / amortization

    • Accruals & more

  • Strong understanding of accounting controls and audit considerations

  • Advanced Excel skills (large datasets, reconciliations, pivots, complex formulas)

Working Style

  • Comfortable leading discovery and demo sessions with Controllers, Accounting Managers, and Finance leaders

  • Able to make clear judgment calls when working with incomplete or messy data

  • Enjoy working at the intersection of accounting and technology, and thrive in early-stage environments

Nice to Haves

  • Big-4 or public accounting audit experience

  • CPA or equivalent certification

  • Experience scoping or delivering accounting automation projects

Why Maximor

  • Join a founding team building the next generation of accounting agentic automation

  • Apply deep accounting experience to shape how AI is used in real finance teams

  • Work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering – your judgment directly impacts deals and delivery

  • Compensation is top-decile: competitive base salary, meaningful equity, and performance-based bonus

  • As Maximor scales, this role can grow into a senior leadership position across Solutions, Delivery, or Product – depending on your strengths and interests.

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a traditional accounting manager position

This is a judgment-heavy accounting role for someone who wants to influence how accounting automation is scoped and delivered – without compromising accuracy or auditability.
