Accounting Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Specific Competencies:
  • Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial records on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial data and ensure all documentation is properly filed and accessible.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as needed.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable to ensure timely collection.
  • Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.
  • Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • High school diploma. Associates in accounting preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounting or related role.

  • N/A
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Work independently
  • Multitask efficiently.
  • High attention to details, ability to take directions, self-check and follow up on work.
  • Able to enter accurate financial /numerical data.
  • Analytical and critical problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel, Sage, or other accounting software
  • Basic to intermediate computer and typing skills.
  • Ability to apply discretion and be trusted with confidential company information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time position in a medical office environment. Requires working occasional evening and weekend hours. Occasional stress due to high work volume, deadlines, and multiple assignments.
