Accounting Specialist
Northwest Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Specialist to join our team.
Our Accounting Specialist supports daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, cash receipts, invoicing, account reconciliations, and month-end activities. This position helps maintain accurate financial records, supports internal controls, and identifies opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
Location: Hybrid; Seattle and SeaTac, WA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time (approximately 6 months)
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Wage Range: $30 - $34 per hour
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
Accounts Payable
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, and routing for approval.
- Support weekly payment processing, employee reimbursements, and credit card administration.
- Monitor accounts payable communications and maintain organized financial records and documentation.
Cash Receipts & Invoicing
- Process customer payments, deposits, and daily cash receipts accurately.
- Prepare customer invoices and supporting documentation for review and distribution.
- Monitor daily banking activity and reconcile remittance information from various sources.
- Maintain organized electronic records related to cash management and customer invoicing.
General Accounting & Support
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end accounting activities.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update accounting procedures and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy on all assigned projects.
Needed Experience & Requirements:
- Associate degree in Accounting or three (3) years of accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information while maintaining professionalism and accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
