Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a motivated Accounting Specialist to join our team at the Williamsburg, VA site:
Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting within the organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable on daily basis
- Process incoming and outgoing payments by ACH, wire, check, credit card
- Receive, process, and reconcile credit card statements
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures
- Scan and maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices
- Verify, prepare, and submit customer invoices for shipped orders
- Help supply chain team with the payment and administration of vendors
- Assist with consumer tax and property tax filings
- Assist in month-end closing procedures (e.g., reconciliations, prepaid amortization, adjusting entries)
- Perform administrative and other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Preferred: 1-3 years of experience working with accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience interfacing with all levels of an organization
- Self-motivated and self-directed with strong attention to detail
- Preferred: Working knowledge of ERP Systems and proficient in MS Office
- Effective time management skills with ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
Additional Job Details:
- Pay - $23.00 - $30.00 an hour
- Job Type – Full-time
