Accounting Technician

This position is located in the Business Office, Accounts Receivable at the Haskell Indian Health Center in Lawrence, Kansas. The incumbent performs accounts receivable support functions for the patient account system, through posting of payments and adjustments to accounts receivable in the Patient Accounts Section. Incumbent reports to the Business Office Manager. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Responsible for posting of all contractual/adjustments related to and in conjunction with posting of payment in accordance with policy and procedures Review and examine various bill types of patient care to third party payers and performs third party collection posting of the automated account receivable program Enter payment data into automated individual accounts receivable reflecting appropriate deductible coinsurance, non-covered charges and standard payment amount to reconcile patient accounts within 72 hours of receiving the batches Reconcile accounts comparing account balance with related data to assure agreement; review records and source documents to identify the sources and discrepancies and determine the entries required
