Accounts Assistant

Job Summary

Support accurate and timely financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting to ensure compliance and effective cost control in a dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and promptly to maintain financial integrity
  • Prepare customer invoices, supplier payments, receipts, and payment vouchers to support cash flow management
  • Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders, delivery orders, and goods received records to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies
  • Assist in monitoring inventory-related transactions and food cost records to support cost control measures
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records to ensure financial accuracy
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, management accounts, and audit schedules for internal and external review
  • Support payroll processing, CPF submissions, and staff claims to ensure timely and compliant employee compensation
  • Maintain proper filing of accounting and financial documents to facilitate easy retrieval and audit readiness
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, auditors, banks, and government agencies on finance-related matters to resolve queries and ensure compliance
  • Assist in tracking operating expenses, procurement costs, and budget variances to support financial planning and control
  • Support stock reconciliation and inventory reporting together with the operations team to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting procedures to uphold governance standards
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance and Operations departments to enhance operational efficiency
  • Perform any other accounting and administrative duties assigned by Management to support business needs

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Relevant accounting experience in the Food & Beverage, manufacturing, or retail industry
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
