Accounts Clerk
Summary
Processes invoices, payments, and expense claims while maintaining accounting records and assisting with financial reporting in Xero or QuickBooks.
Accounts Clerk Roles and Responsibilities
- Record and process financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
- Prepare and issue invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and purchase orders.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Verify invoices, receipts, and supporting documents before processing payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and filing systems.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management accounts.
- Process employee expense claims and reimbursements.
- Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records, where required.
- Prepare journal entries and update the general ledger.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing the required documentation.
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, and banks regarding financial matters.
- Perform general administrative duties related to the finance department.
- Carry out other accounting and administrative tasks assigned by the Accounts Executive or Finance Manager.
