Accounts Executive (AR)

Manages accounts receivable: billing, collections, cash allocation, and credit control for a Singapore-based company, ensuring timely payments and GST compliance.
Role Overview
The Accounts Executive (AR) is responsible for managing the full spectrum of the accounts receivable process, including customer billing, payment collections, cash allocation, and credit control. Reporting to the Finance Manager / Head of Finance, this role ensures timely collection of outstanding debts, accurate financial reporting, and compliance with local statutory requirements (e.g., GST reporting).
Key Responsibilities
1. Invoicing & Billing Operations
Generate and issue customer tax invoices, debit notes, and credit notes in compliance with Singapore GST guidelines.
Verify customer usage data, sales orders, or contracts to ensure billing accuracy.
Upload invoices into customer portals or send directly via email/accounting software systems (e.g., SAP, Xero).
2. Credit Control & Cash Collections
Monitor daily bank balances and perform prompt matching and posting of incoming payments (FAST, GIRO, Cheque, Wire Transfer).
Follow up on overdue accounts and manage payment collection queries tactfully via phone and email.
Conduct credit assessments for new and existing customers and assist in setting credit limits/terms.
3. Account Reconciliation & Month-End Closing
Perform monthly AR aging analysis and prepare AR reports for management review.
Reconcile customer statements with general ledger balances and resolve discrepancies.
Calculate allowances for doubtful debts and process bad debt write-offs when necessary.
4. Audit & Compliance Support
Support internal and external auditors during annual financial audits.
Assist in preparing monthly/quarterly GST submissions for AR transactions.
Maintain accurate electronic and physical documentation for audit trails.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent (LCCI / ACCA candidates welcomed).
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience handling Accounts Receivable functions in Singapore.
