Accounts Manager

Uma Marine is a Singapore-based marine-sector organisation seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to lead finance operations, ensure accurate reporting, and collaborate with management in a dynamic environment.

Job Summary

The Accounts Manager will own day-to-day finance operations, manage full accounting cycles, ensure compliance with Singapore standards, and support financial analysis and reporting to drive business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, General Ledger, and month-end closing to ensure accurate financial records
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and supporting schedules for timely reporting
  • Oversee cash flow management, bank reconciliations, and payment processing to maintain liquidity
  • Ensure compliance with GST, tax, statutory reporting, and Singapore accounting standards
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, banks, and external parties to facilitate audits and regulatory submissions
  • Monitor receivables, payables, and working capital to optimize financial health
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting to inform business decisions
  • Maintain effective internal controls and identify opportunities to enhance finance processes for operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with management to analyze financial data and meet business requirements

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or recognised professional accounting qualification
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably managing a full set of accounts
  • Strong understanding of Singapore accounting, GST, and statutory requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in marine, shipping, offshore, engineering, or related industries is advantageous
  • Strong organisational, detail orientation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a hands-on environment
