Description

Seward, Nebraska (Lincoln area) | $55,000–$75,000 | Full-time, permanent | On-site | Salaried/exempt

A new manufacturing operation. An established company behind it. A chance to grow with both.

What if you could join a new operation at the beginning, help shape how the accounting work gets done, and still have the confidence of an established, successful business behind you?

Insight Recruitment is partnering with a highly successful, family-owned agricultural company opening an advanced manufacturing facility in Seward, Nebraska. This is a newly created Accounts Payable Specialist position with an opportunity to become a valued early member of the accounting team.

Why this opportunity is worth a closer look

· Medical insurance that makes a difference: the employer pays 100% of the employee-only medical premium. Coverage for eligible family members is available at additional cost.

· Stability behind the startup: you’ll join a new manufacturing operation backed by a successful, established agricultural business—not an unproven standalone startup.

· A role you can help shape: contribute to AP procedures, documentation, and controls instead of simply inheriting someone else’s system.

· Room to grow: as production ramps up and transaction volumes increase, there is potential to broaden your responsibilities, experience, and future opportunities.

· Supportive, approachable leadership: report directly to an experienced accounting leader who values initiative, sound judgment, and independence.

· A practical workweek: Monday–Friday, generally 40 hours, with a 7:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. start option.

What the role looks like

The facility is preparing for full production in 2027. Early on, you’ll have time to learn the business, build relationships, and help establish sound processes before AP activity increases. With lighter initial invoice volume, you may also support other accounting and related operational needs; the exact additional tasks are still evolving.

· Manage full-cycle accounts payable: review, code, verify, and process vendor invoices and payments.

· Perform three-way matching across purchase orders, receiving records, and vendor invoices; resolve pricing, quantity, and payment discrepancies.

· Handle manufacturing-related invoices for ingredients, packaging, equipment, maintenance, freight, utilities, and other operating expenses.

· Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation; reconcile vendor statements and monitor AP aging.

· Apply accurate general ledger coding and expense classification; assist with month-end accruals and reconciliations.

· Partner with Purchasing, Receiving, Production, and Finance to resolve issues and keep transactions moving.

· Use Oracle NetSuite and Excel, and help establish efficient AP procedures and controls.

· Pitch in with other accounting or related operational support tasks as needs develop during the startup phase.

What you’ll bring

· Approximately 2–5 years of hands-on accounts payable experience, ideally 3+ years.

· Experience in manufacturing or food production.

· Experience using a major ERP system, plus solid full-cycle AP, three-way matching, GL coding, and vendor reconciliation skills.

· Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup formulas.

· Accuracy, dependability, initiative, and the ability to follow through and work independently.

Especially valuable

· Oracle NetSuite experience.

· Food manufacturing or another inventory-intensive environment.

· Experience improving accounting workflows or helping establish new processes.

· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is welcome.

Compensation, benefits, and logistics

· $55,000–$75,000 annual salary, depending on qualifications.

· 100% employer-paid employee-only medical insurance premium; additional cost for eligible dependent coverage.

· Paid vacation, sick time, and company holidays.

· Full-time, permanent, salaried/exempt position; fully on-site in Seward, Nebraska.

· Initial training may include approximately one week at a company location in Rising City.

· Target start: late 2026 or early 2027, with some flexibility.
