Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description

The World We Envision

I believe the work that gets care paid for matters as much as the work that gets a device to a patient's door. When cash moves fast and clean, we say yes to the next patient sooner. I want every card run the day it's ready, every work comp invoice paid, and a weekly scoreboard that shows exactly who made it happen. If you've hit your numbers somewhere that only noticed when you missed them, you'll find that's not how it works here.

The Mission and Team

Right Coast Medical started in 2010 with one question from our founder, Brent Long: "What if pain relief didn't have to come with a risk of addiction?" Back then, opioids were the default after surgery. Brent thought families deserved better, and he built a company around non-opioid recovery devices like ThermX, T-REX and SAM 2.0.

Zach Holmes joined in 2014, fresh out of college. He helped grow RCM from a regional operation into a national provider, and today he runs it as our CEO. That's what this place does for people who take ownership.

You'll work with me, our CFO, and a small billing team that takes care of veterans and injured workers across the country. They get the claims right. You make sure the money comes in.

The Role: Accounts Receivable Specialist

You turn every VA card and work comp invoice into cash, fast and right, so we can keep our promise to providers and patients, and veterans and injured workers can recover without opioids and get back to what they love.

This is a new seat. Today our billers carry the back end of billing on top of the front end, and both jobs deserve a full-time owner. Getting paid isn't a project that ends. We built this role because we need it.

You'll love:

  • Running 500–750 VA card payments a month, each one charged, receipted and posted within one business day at 98%+ accuracy
  • Raising our work comp collection rate by 15 points in your first year
  • Cutting the time it takes a work comp invoice to turn into cash by 30% in your first six months
  • Bringing old balances back to life, so every aged invoice has a status, a contact and a next step
  • Freeing our billers to focus on getting claims right the first time
  • Seeing exactly where you stand on a weekly scoreboard, with no guessing about whether you're winning

Where this leads

As RCM grows, this seat can grow into a lead role, or
move up into billing. I won't promise you a title. I will promise that your results will be seen, and that the people who get promoted here are the ones who own their numbers.

Along the way, you'll learn work comp billing end to end, from the invoice to the adjuster to the cash. You'll become the person who knows where every dollar stands and what it will take to bring it in.

About You

  • You have 2+ years of work comp, medical, or third-party collections experience. Adjusters and TPAs don't rattle you.
  • Before anything goes out, you check every amount, card and receipt.
  • Today's queue gets cleared today.
  • You follow up until it's paid: politely, on schedule, every time.
  • No open item on your desk lacks a next step and a date.
  • When an adjuster pushes back, you hold the line without caving or getting heated.
  • Patient and card data stay protected because that's your habit, not because someone is watching.
  • Excel and QuickBooks Online feel familiar. Salesforce, Breadwinner and PayTrace
    you'll learn with us.

This is not for you if:

  • You need someone checking in to stay on task. This is remote, and the scoreboard does the talking.
  • "Close enough" is close enough.
  • You'd rather send one email and wait than pick up the phone.

Pay and Terms

  • $25.00/hour to start, hourly and overtime-eligible
  • $26.44/hour at day 90, once you hit your first 90-day goals
  • Quarterly bonus of up to $1,500 ($6,000/year), tied to work comp collection results
  • Full-time, remote (U.S.), Monday–Friday, roughly 8–5 in your time zone, with some flexibility as long as you're working mostly during business hours
  • 15 days paid PTO, 5 sick days, and paid holidays
  • 401(k)

If you're reading this and saying "HECK YEAH," we want to meet you.
