Backed by Porsche Ventures, Hearst Ventures, and Centana Growth Partners, RunBuggy is transforming the way cars move. Our cutting-edge technology is trusted by some of the largest OEMs, captive finance companies, and automotive lenders in the world to streamline vehicle transportation at scale.

RunBuggy’s end-to-end platform connects car shippers and haulers in real time - eliminating the friction of traditional load boards and costly custom software. For shippers, RunBuggy integrates directly into existing management systems, reducing transportation costs and accelerating delivery timelines. For transporters, we offer a smarter, more profitable way to find, accept, and manage loads - all from a single app.

Since launching in 2019, RunBuggy has grown to over 200 team members, facilitated the movement of hundreds of thousands of vehicles, and attracted tens of thousands of transporters across the U.S.

We’re not just building a better logistics platform - we’re redefining the future of automotive transportation.

About the Role:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a key member of RunBuggy’s accounting team, responsible for managing the invoice-to-cash cycle from accurate customer billing through timely collection and reconciliation. As the team’s most experienced AR resource, you will take ownership of complex accounts and disputes, maintain accurate receivables, and partner with the Accounting Manager to support an efficient month-end close.

You’ll be successful in this role if you are highly accurate, persistent in follow-through, and confident working directly with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve billing and payment issues. You will also serve as a resource to junior team members and help strengthen AR processes through continuous improvement and automation.

This is a hybrid role based in Tempe, AZ, with an expectation of working in the office 2–3 days per week. Candidates must be able to meet this in-office requirement.

What You Will Be Doing:

Billing and Invoicing

  • Prepare and send accurate, timely customer invoices; correct errors before they reach the customer.
  • Apply customer payments (ACH, wire, check, card) and match them to open invoices.
  • Issue credit memos and adjustments with proper approval and documentation.

Collections

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, including the largest and most complex.
  • Follow up on past-due balances by email and phone; escalate when needed.
  • Research and resolve billing disputes with customers and internal teams.
  • Recommend accounts for collection agency referral or write-off.

Reporting and Month-End Close

  • Maintain the AR aging report and present key trends to the Accounting Manager.
  • Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger each month and explain variances.
  • Prepare journal entries for AR activity and support the bad-debt reserve calculation.
  • Track key metrics such as days sales outstanding (DSO — the average days it takes to collect payment).

Process and Team Support

  • Serve as the go-to resource for AR questions; train and support junior staff.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation in billing and collections.
  • Support annual audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Maintain customer account setup, credit records, and tax exemption certificates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
