ACH/ EFT Clerk
Position Summary:
Processes daily ACH and Share Draft activity, evaluate return activity and monitor WHOA account usage and activity.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Follow all credit union policies, procedures, and requirements in addition to all state and federal laws and regulations, including Regulation CC, the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Educate members on various credit union policies, procedures and related laws and regulations where applicable.
- Administer daily Fedline Advantage processes; upload/download daily ACH items received and originated.
- Administer Vizo processes; upload/download daily share draft files, view images for exception items or by member request.
- Process all daily batch control jobs in the core processing system related to ACH / share drafts. Process exceptions to these jobs systematically or manually.
- Review daily deceased/DNE reports and process maintenance on deceased account records.
- Monitor WHOA program; review daily reports, review and monitor member accounts for WHOA, NSF and charge off activity.
- Maintain cashier check registers, including unpresented cashier check report.
- Answer inquiries pertaining to ACH/ drafts / WHOA program and cashier checks.
- Process stop payments, voids and unauthorized transactions for ACH, drafts, and cashier checks.
- Process/verify wire/remittance transfer transactions through Fed-Line and Zephyr including OFAC searches.
- Assist with member inquiries with online Bill Payment transactions and exceptions.
- Maintain and monitor subsidiary ledgers. Research and correct any general ledger out of balance conditions.
- Maintain member ACH origination database.
- Maintain records retention requirements for ACH and drafts.
- Maintain adequate postage for daily operations.
- Complete applicable month end procedures.
- Assist other accounting team members as directed.
- Participate in various ACH education sessions annually. Review and report on all ACH rule changes. Maintain current and update applicable rule books annually.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Lifting of up to 20 pounds, twisting and kneeling are frequently required
- Extended sitting up to 95% of the time
- Continuous sound perception/discrimination and verbal speech ability.
- Frequent exposure to dust and poor ventilation.
- Intermediate mathematical skills (calculations/concepts involving decimal and percentages).
- Ability to use a computer and adding machine, perform minor math calculations and general account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles. Knowledge of credit union data processing system and credit union cash management policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
