About Us
We are an innovative VC-backed startup dedicated to revolutionizing the hearing solutions market with our groundbreaking products and services. Our mission is to improve lives by developing exceptional hearing devices — starting with advanced hearing aids, but not limited to them. We have operations in the US, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, and we are looking for a acoustic engineer to join our system design team, contributing to the acoustic architecture of next-generation hearing products.
What You'll Do
- Design and simulate acoustic systems for hearing devices, including transducer (microphone/receiver) selection, acoustic porting, venting, and suspension structures.
- Collaborate with mechanical, hardware, and algorithm engineers to define acoustic requirements and integrate acoustic solutions into product form factors.
- Build and validate acoustic prototypes, using measurements to iterate on design parameters such as frequency response, directivity, distortion, and feedback margin.
- Perform electro-acoustic system modeling (e.g., using lumped element models, FEA, or boundary element methods) to predict performance before physical builds.
- Contribute to the development of acoustic system architectures for features like directional processing, active feedback cancellation, and occlusion reduction.
- Document design rationales, simulation results, and test reports; support technology transfer to manufacturing teams with clear specifications and test limits.
- Stay current with emerging acoustic simulation tools and electro-acoustic transducers suitable for tiny-form-factor wearables.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Acoustics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in acoustic system design, simulation, or transducer integration.
- Basic understanding of electro-acoustic transducers (microphones, receivers/speakers) and acoustic measurements (frequency response, THD, sensitivity, directivity).
- Familiarity with at least one acoustic simulation or measurement tool (e.g., COMSOL, Abaqus, SoundCheck, Audio Precision, or hearing-aid couplers).
- Regularly uses AI tools in daily work and life, and has a solid personal understanding of their strengths, limitations, and practical applications.
- Hands-on prototyping mindset, strong attention to detail, and good documentation habits.
- Good communication skills and team spirit across hardware, firmware, and algorithm disciplines.
- (Nice to have) Experience with hearing aids, headphones, or other wearable acoustic products.
