Active Directory Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) in enterprise environments.
• Handle L3 escalations related to domain controllers, DNS, replication, authentication, and Group Policy.
• Perform domain controller installation, configuration, upgrades, migration, and decommissioning.
• Troubleshoot AD replication issues using tools such as Repadmin and DCDiag.
• Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs), OU structures, users, groups, and computer accounts.
• Manage AD forests, domains, trusts, sites, and subnets.
• Troubleshoot Kerberos, LDAP, NTLM, and authentication-related issues.
• Implement AD security hardening, least-privilege access, and privileged account management.
• Manage FSMO roles, SYSVOL, and domain controller health.
• Support AD backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Work on AD migrations, domain consolidation, and hybrid identity integration with Microsoft Entra ID.
• Automate routine administration using PowerShell scripts.
• Coordinate with Windows, network, cybersecurity, and application teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, RCA reports, and operational procedures.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server administration.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Expertise in DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, LDAP, Kerberos, and NTLM.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for AD replication, authentication, and domain controller issues.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and AD automation.
• Knowledge of AD Sites and Services, FSMO roles, trusts, forests, and domains.
• Experience with AD security, auditing, delegation, and privileged access.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity, and synchronization tools.
• Experience handling critical incidents, problem management, and root cause analysis.

• Microsoft Entra Connect / Cloud Sync.
• Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).
• Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
• AD recovery and forest recovery procedures.
• Experience with enterprise ITIL processes and ticketing tools.
