Are you passionate about working with older adults and creating meaningful experiences? Join our dedicated team at Lakewood as a Program Assistant in our Healthcare Department!
About the Role:
As a Program Assistant, you will support the Program Manager & Director of Resident Services in organizing, leading, and documenting engaging activities for residents. You’ll help meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each resident, making a real difference in their daily lives.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, implement, and lead individual and group activities
- Keep daily and monthly activity calendars updated and visible
- Support residents during on- and off-campus events
- Maintain attendance records and activity documentation
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
- Care for resident pets and their living spaces
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and residents’ rights policies
- Assist with basic reading/writing tasks for residents
- Collaborate with volunteers and staff across departments
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with older adults (preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Creativity, flexibility, and patience
- Ability to work with residents with cognitive and physical impairments
- Comfortable with physical activity (lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally)
- Computer proficiency required
- Positive attitude and team spirit
Working Conditions:
- Indoors in a well-lit, ventilated environment
- Some physical demands: lifting, bending, kneeling, and moving furniture
- Occasional off-campus trips
