Actuarial Manager/Senior Manager
- Lead
the development and implementation of pricing policy, strategies and
models, ensuring they are competitive, profitable and responsive to
internal and external changes.
- Lead
the pricing for Government business, including tenders.
- Collaborate
with the reserving team to integrate reserving analysis into pricing
decisions and ensure alignment with the company’s risk appetite.
- Work
closely with the underwriting and product development teams to design
pricing structures that support product innovation and market expansion.
- Analyse
market trends and competitor pricing to ensure Kshema’s pricing strategy
remains competitive and responsive to market dynamics.
- Ensure
compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in pricing
process.
- Lead,
mentor, and develop the pricing team, fostering a culture of innovation,
continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Work
closely with data scientists to utilise spatiotemporal data and build
granular and dynamic pricing algorithms.
- Communicate
complex pricing concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders,
including senior management and board members.
- Implement
new pricing tools, controls and risk management in the pricing function.
Requirements
- 5+ year of experience in
general insurance pricing or portfolio management, including experience in a
leadership role.
- Deep understanding of
actuarial principles, underwriting, regulatory environment, and product
development processes
- Strong leadership skills
with experience managing a team and multiple priorities.
- Keen interest in use of
emerging technologies like GPTs, Power Platforms etc. in day-to-day work and
pricing models.
- Proficiency in data analysis
and open-source coding languages like VBA, SQL & Python.
- Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data to make
informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
