Vincentian Home in the North Hills of Pittsburgh is looking for a dynamic, creative, and community-minded Activities Manager to lead our Community Life & Spiritual Enrichment department! This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating meaningful experiences, building connections, and helping residents live active, healthy, and engaged lives.

The Activities Manager oversees the daily operations of the Community Life and Spiritual Enrichment department while developing innovative programming and experiences for residents, children, students, families, staff, and visitors. This role will lead engaging intergenerational programs, creative arts experiences, community partnerships, and lifelong learning opportunities across Vincentian's personal care, independent living, and skilled service lines.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the daily operations of the Community Life department, ensuring programs, activities, and services align with Vincentian's mission, organizational strategy, and commitment to service excellence.
  • Design and implement memorable programs, activities, events, and experiences that promote socialization, lifelong learning, creativity, and emotional, spiritual, intellectual, sensory, and physical enrichment.
  • Incorporate the eight dimensions of wellness and intergenerational practices into programming to create meaningful opportunities for residents and the broader community.
  • Educate and engage residents, families, staff, children, students, and community partners about the benefits of intergenerational programming and community connection.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, businesses, community organizations, and other groups to expand programming and create new opportunities for engagement.
  • Establish standards and processes for effective program and event planning, including budgeting, promotion, entertainment, supplies, scheduling, setup, cleanup, and coordination with support departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate programming through key performance indicators and other measures of success, using feedback and data to continuously improve programs and services.
  • Serve as the primary resource for Vincentian's smart technology platform, K4Connect, helping residents make the most of responsive home, health, and community features and assisting with technology questions and troubleshooting.
  • Research and identify technology-based solutions that can enhance individual engagement, community connections, programming, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional service to residents and families by cultivating meaningful relationships, responding thoughtfully to their needs, and ensuring resident satisfaction.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and support Community Life and Spiritual Enrichment employees, volunteers, students, and other assigned staff.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development in collaboration with People Operations & Engagement.
  • Assist with the development and management of the department budget, including labor, operations, supplies, revenue, and capital expenses.
  • Schedule staff according to operational needs, program demands, and established budget guidelines.
  • Ensure timely completion of payroll, accounts payable, and other departmental administrative responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively with departments throughout Vincentian to coordinate resources, communicate updates and concerns, and support the success of each service line.
  • Assist with additional community and operational needs as assigned, which may include tours, transportation support, facility needs, and other activities that enhance the resident experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of applicable experience, or an associate degree with 2+ years of progressive experience and demonstrated project success.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience planning and implementing programs, activities, events, or community-based experiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to independently plan, coordinate, and execute multiple programs and initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with content management systems is a plus.
  • Comfortable learning, using, and explaining technology and software systems to non-technical audiences, including computers, tablets, smart devices, and online platforms.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Dynamic, outgoing, and approachable personality with a passion for creating exceptional experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds and across all levels of an organization.
  • Thoughtful decision-making skills, strong attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to leadership.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to embrace change, innovation, and new ideas.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on community needs, which may occasionally include evenings and weekends.
