Description

ACU Nurse Manager - FT

Are you a nursing leader who enjoys being involved in both patient care and the day-to-day operations of a department? Haxtun Health is looking for an ACU Nurse Manager to help lead our Acute Care Unit and Emergency Department. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting a dedicated nursing team, promoting high-quality patient care, and helping ensure our departments are prepared to meet the needs of our community. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, this position plays an important role in staff development, clinical excellence, and the coordination of care across multiple patient care areas.

  • Starting Pay Range: $93,600.00 – $121,680.00, depending on experience
  • Position Status: Full-time, exempt

Application Deadline: February 3, 2027. Applications will close sooner if a qualified candidate is identified.

Job Summary:

The ACU Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) with the day-to-day clinical and operational oversight of the Acute Care Unit (ACU) and Emergency Department (ED). This position supports the delivery of safe, compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, staff development, and efficient department operations.

The ACU Nurse Manager provides leadership and direct supervision to ACU/ED nursing staff, develops and maintains staffing schedules, and coordinates nursing resources to support continuous 24-hour operations. Because ACU nursing staff also provide Emergency Department coverage, this position helps ensure appropriate staffing, clinical readiness, and coordination of nursing care across both patient care areas.

The ACU Nurse Manager participates in the nursing administration on-call rotation and may provide leadership support, clinical consultation, and direct patient care within the ACU, ED, Extended Care Unit (ECU), or other patient care areas as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
    • Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
    • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience.
    • Minimum two (2) years of leadership, charge nurse, supervisory, or staff coordination experience.
    • Current or ability to obtain within established timeframes:
      • Basic Life Support (BLS)
      • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

      • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Experience in acute care, emergency nursing, critical access hospital operations, or nursing leadership.
