Addictionologist

Position Summary
The Addictionologist will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The ideal candidate is passionate about addiction medicine, experienced in medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and committed to delivering patient-centered, trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and substance use assessments to diagnose substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s recovery goals and clinical needs.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), in accordance with evidence-based practices and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding addiction, relapse prevention, recovery resources, and treatment options.
- Collaborate closely with therapists, counselors, nursing staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case reviews.
- Facilitate or support group therapy and psychoeducational sessions as needed.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards, including confidentiality and patient rights requirements.
- Stay current with advancements in addiction medicine, behavioral health treatment, and evidence-based clinical practices.
- Support community outreach, education, and awareness initiatives related to addiction and recovery services.
- Advocate for patients and promote a culture of dignity, respect, and recovery-focused care.
