Job Description: As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team and under the general direction of the Out-of-Scope Manager, the Addiction Counsellor Degree, is responsible for the day to day client service delivery (development, implementation, delivery and assists with evaluation) of Addiction Services. Performs clinical case management, community/program education and community/program development. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Education

  • Degree in Addiction Counseling

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Bachelor of Human Services is acceptable

  • Advanced - Case management skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect
  • Knowledge in individual, family, group, and crisis counselling methods
  • Knowledge in program development and implementation
  • Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention programs
