Job Description: As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, and under the general direction of the Addictions Counsellor - Degree (Alcohol & Addictions Services Worker), the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

  • Chemical Dependency diploma

  • Crisis management skills

Experience

  • Experience in a mental health and addictions program required

  • Completed social sciences or human services discipline acceptable to employer

  • Ability to conduct individual and group counselling/educational programs
  • Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
