About this Position The Local Product Quality Leader is the site authority for product quality and preventive quality systems, providing technical leadership to drive quality excellence across the product lifecycle while ensuring customer confidence, manufacturing robustness, risk mitigation, and sustainable business growth through proactive quality management, advanced problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. Serving as the quality owner for Advanced Packaging products and technologies within the region, the role acts as an extension of technical expertise between Product Development Engineers (PDEs) in Irvine, Shanghai, and Seoul and the manufacturing plant, supporting new product development (NPD) introductions, leading Design and Process FMEA activities in partnership with Process Engineers, and functioning as the second-line escalation point for complex quality issues while developing team capability in advanced problem-solving. The role also drives correlation studies between raw materials and product/process performance to identify and mitigate quality risks, with customer communication serving as a secondary responsibility rather than a primary focus. What you´ll do Lead quality risk management by identifying emerging quality risks and customer concerns, driving preventive actions and mitigation plans with Product Development, Supplier Quality Development, and Process Engineering teams. Serve as the technical lead for complex root-cause investigations involving products, raw materials, and manufacturing processes using data analysis, DOE, statistical methods, analytical testing, and good/bad sample comparisons. Establish correlations between raw material characteristics, formulation and process parameters, and product performance to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks. Determine and deploy appropriate analytical and testing methodologies to validate hypotheses and differentiate potential root causes effectively. Drive product and process quality improvements by enhancing process capability, leading quality improvement initiatives, sharing best practices, and ensuring corrective actions address true technical root causes. Lead APQP, process change management, and qualification activities to ensure product and process quality readiness for new product introductions and scale-up programs. Provide cross-functional leadership by coordinating Quality, Manufacturing, Product Development, Supplier Quality Development, Supply Chain, and global PDE teams in Irvine, Shanghai, and Seoul to deliver critical business objectives. Act as a technical mentor and change agent, coaching teams on Advanced Quality, DFSS, problem-solving methodologies, customer expectations, and influencing stakeholders to apply the right tools and practices for robust process design and continuous improvement.
