ABOUT THE ROLE

The BSc Entrepreneurial Leadership (BEL) programme is a three-year degree programme with the aim of developing Ethical Entrepreneurial graduates at scale who are well prepared to leverage technology as the first hand solution to solve relevant problems in the continent and beyond and also who are ready to meet the needs of employers globally. This innovative and scalable programme prepares graduates not only with relevant technical skills but also problem solving and leadership skills missing in our tech graduates and promotes learning with a purpose.

The role of the Adjunct Curriculum & Quality Assurance Expert entails the responsibility to successfully design, refine and validate the existing learning components of the programme adhering to the principles of our ALU’s Learning Model and support the periodic review process with a set project plan and key milestones. The candidate will contribute to academic expertise, industry insight, quality assurance, curriculum design and future focused programme development experience to strengthen programme quality, graduate employability and long term programme relevance.

Job Description:

We are looking for an individual who can meet requirements as mentioned in the profile below:

  • Review, refine, design and validate the current learning curriculum of the Entrepreneurial Leadership programmes with documentation and with key attention to details outlined in the respective Project Plan and timelines
  • Assess programme alignment with accreditation requirements and quality assurance framework
  • Conduct a comprehensive curriculum gap analysis against global entrepreneurial leadership education standards, industry requirements and emerging technology trends
  • Review programme learning outcomes, graduate attributes, course sequencing, assessments and competency frameworks and recommend enhancements where required.
  • Ensure curriculum alignment with current and emerging domains including social innovation, Entrepreneurship Education, Policy and Advocacy, Planetary Health Innovation, Business Strategy, Leadership Development and other relevant business fields
  • Benchmark the programme against leading international Entrepreneurial Leadership and Entrepreneurship Management degree programmes and recommend improvements
  • Review and update course specifications, learning outcomes, assessment strategies, practical learning activities and programme documentation
  • Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty learning designers and industry stakeholders to validate curriculum recommendations and proposed programme changes
  • Ensure programme content reflects current industry practices, future workforce needs and technological advancements
  • Support quality assurance, accreditation and periodic programme review requirements through documentation and evidence based recommendations
  • Participate in curriculum review workshops, stakeholder consultations and validation sessions
  • Provide periodic progress updates against agreed project milestones and deliverables.
  • Contribute to the review and update of programme handbooks, curriculum guides and other academic documentation
  • Support the Programme Manager and designated faculty in implementing approved curriculum enhancements and recommendations
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties related to the successful completion of the curriculum review and redesign project.
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be allocated from time to time by the line manager.
