Job Description:

**THIS IS AN ADJUNCT ON-SITE POSITION LOCATED ON THE EUNICE AND LAFAYETTE, LA CAMPUSES**

Under the direction of the Nursing Program Director and Semester Coordinator, engages in the duties and responsibilities of a nursing faculty member including but not limited to classroom instruction, exam construction, exam analysis, content grading, evaluation of student achievement of program outcomes, and other associated duties and responsibilities that may be required by the Program, Division, and/or University. Faculty will teach across the curriculum to ensure compliance with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LASBN), the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and other professional standards and guidelines.


55% Teaching and Instruction: Plan, organize, and deliver classroom instruction that aligns with course objectives, program outcomes, and accreditation standards; Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, lectures, presentations, assignments, and examinations; Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and active learning methodologies to promote student engagement and success; Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment; Integrate current nursing practice standards, clinical guidelines, and healthcare trends into classroom instruction; Promote critical thinking, clinical judgment, and professional communication skills among students.


10% Student Evaluation and Support: Assess student learning through examinations, quizzes, assignments, presentations, and other evaluation methods; Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding academic performance and progress; Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance in accordance with institutional policies; Identify students experiencing academic difficulty and provide appropriate guidance, referrals, or remediation; Be available to students via designated office hours, email, or other approved communication methods.


10% Curriculum and Program Support: Teach assigned courses according to approved curriculum and course outcomes; Participate in course revisions and curriculum evaluation as requested; Collaborate with semester coordinators, full-time faculty, and program administrators to ensure consistency across course sections; Support programmatic efforts to maintain compliance with state board requirements and accreditation standards.


10% Professional Responsibilities: Serve as a professional role model demonstrating ethical and professional nursing behaviors; Maintain current and unrestricted nursing licensure and required certifications; Stay current with developments in nursing education, clinical practice, and healthcare regulations; Adhere to all institutional policies, nursing program policies, FERPA requirements, and standards of professional conduct; Complete required institutional training and compliance requirements.


10% Communication and Collaboration: Communicate regularly with semester coordinators, program directors, and nursing faculty regarding student concerns and course issues; Attend faculty meetings, orientation sessions, and professional development activities as required; Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success and program goals.


5% Additional Duties: Submit course documentation, grades, and reports by established deadlines; Participate in program assessment and accreditation activities as assigned; Perform other duties related to teaching and student success as assigned by the Program Director.


Minimum Qualifications:


Master of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited academic institution.

Minimum of 2 or more years of experience.

Active, unencumbered license in the state of Louisiana; Clinical experience as a registered nurse


Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate in Nursing Practice or Ph.D. in Nursing from a regionally accredited academic institution.

Minimum of 5 or more years of experience

Active, unencumbered license in the state of Louisiana; Clinical experience as a registered nurse


Certifications and/or Licenses:

Nursing License-Active, unencumbered license in the state of Louisiana
