Administration Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administration Manager to join our team. As part of a recent restructure, Health Information Management (HIM) and Administration Manager role has been separated into two dedicated leadership positions to strengthen operational focus and service delivery. The Administration Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the hospital's administration functions, including Front Office and Ward Clerk teams, ensuring the delivery of efficient, professional and patient-focused administrative services.
Working collaboratively with the State Administration Manager, Billing Team and Hospital Executive, the Administration Manager supports revenue protection and collection while overseeing daily operational administration activities. The role plays an integral part in achieving departmental objectives, hospital strategic priorities and key performance indicators through effective leadership, continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support the Front Office and Ward Clerk teams.
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of efficient, high-quality administrative services.
- Collaborate with the Billing Team to support revenue protection and health fund compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement of administrative processes and departmental performance.
- Manage staffing, rostering and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards and legislative requirements.
- Build effective relationships with clinical teams and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to hospital strategic initiatives and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
About You
You are an experienced administration leader with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and leading high-performing teams. You have strong organisational, communication and leadership skills, thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and are proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement.
You Will Also Bring
- Demonstrated experience leading administration teams, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Strong leadership, organisational, communication and time management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care and customer service.
- Experience with private health funds, patient administration systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Management, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience (desirable).
- Previous experience in a private or public hospital setting and leading service improvement initiatives (desirable).
