Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and highly motivated individual to serve as an Administrative Coordinator 4 within the Mental Health Department. This position provides advanced administrative support to clinical, programmatic, and supervisory staff who deliver essential mental-health services to the offender population.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Compiles and prepares information for special assignments and reports, gathering data from multiple sources to support departmental needs. Responds to inquiries by telephone and in writing, drafting clear and professional correspondence and preparing letters, memos, and other written materials as required.

  • Performs advanced clerical and administrative support functions for the Mental Health Division, including typing, document preparation, and data entry. Operates computer systems and software applications to input, retrieve, and generate reports essential to departmental operations.

  • Organizes and maintains confidential files and records in accordance with departmental standards and applicable policies. Manages filing systems for all aspects of the division, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and security. Sorts and distributes incoming mail, processes inter-institutional correspondence, and identifies items requiring immediate attention to ensure timely responses.

  • Processes and enters employee time records and assists timekeepers by generating and distributing timekeeping reports. Ensures accuracy and compliance with payroll procedures and deadlines.


Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: JOB APPOINTMENT

  • A job appointment is a temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
  • This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non-temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process.
  • If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment.
