Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated individual to assist with the processing and assignment of consumer intakes received by the Consumer Advocacy & Response Division (CARD) and to serve as the Administrative Coordinator for the Central Massachusetts Regional Office in Worcester.

CARD receives and reviews complaints, advocates on behalf of Massachusetts consumers, and implements settlements entered into by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) in various areas relating to the Office’s consumer protection efforts, including: debt collection, mortgage lending and servicing, housing, automobile sales and lending, utilities, and professional services. The Division also provides referrals and other assistance to consumers, performs research, engages in community outreach, and participates in public education trainings.

To provide the highest-quality services and access for all the Commonwealth’s residents, the Attorney

General maintains an office in Worcester. Office staff includes attorneys, investigators, consumer

specialists, paralegals, victim witness advocate, outreach coordinator, and administrative staff. The

Central Massachusetts office works closely with local community organizations to provide outreach and

education programs on important consumer and public safety issues

Primary Duties: The Administrative Coordinator enters incoming correspondence into the AGO’s record system and sends outgoing correspondence in response to inquiries from the public. Duties include:

  • Greet members of the public that visit the AGO’s Worcester office.
  • Enter and validate consumer complaint data into the AGO’s record system.
  • Prepare and process letters in response to consumer complaints.
  • Support the collection, review, and response to requests for records under the public records laws.
  • Provide general administrative support to the office including processing mail.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related education and/or experience, preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in public service work and ability to build rapport with people from different ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
  • Excellent computer and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel; knowledge of SharePoint, preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiples tasks, meet deadlines, and approach workflows systemically.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or other languages, preferred.

Position Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt.

Salary: $59,513

Location: Worcester
