Administrative Manager

The Administrative Manager serves as the primary administrative and operational leader for the Graduate Student Organization (GSO), overseeing daily operations and supporting the Executive Committee in advancing its mission. This role provides strategic planning, financial oversight, event management, governance support, and campus-wide collaboration to enhance the graduate student experience across Stony Brook University's campuses.
Position Details:
Salary: $66,300 per year FLSA Status: Exempt
Schedule: Full-time; Must have flexible availability

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
Experience in management, planning and execution of Student Life programs
Experience or knowledge of the Student Government operational responsibilities within a higher education setting
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Experience working within budget committees and constraints
Working knowledge of database management systems and Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of SUNY Chancellor Guidelines, Student Government structure, and Student Affairs policies
Previous experience and demonstrated competence in working with a diverse student body in a collegiate setting

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day GSO operations and advise the Executive Committee
Coordinate meetings, maintain records, and oversee organizational policies and procedures
Support strategic planning, leadership development, and annual officer transitions
Manage budgets, financial processes, reimbursements, and compliance with university policies
Plan and execute graduate student programs, events, conferences and leadership initiatives
Build partnerships across academic departments, Student Affairs, and university stakeholders
Oversee communications, marketing, social media, newsletters, and website content
Ensure compliance with governance requirements, elections, and organizational regulations.
Prepare reports, presentations, and communications for university leadership and stakeholders
