Administrative Officer

You will serve as a Administrative Officer with National Park Service. The purpose of this position is to manage the highly complex administrative and business operations for the organization assigned and serve as an authoritative advisor and management consultant to the organization's management team. The incumbent is responsible for directing and coordinating critical management planning activities and guiding management and staff toward effective management of the organization's business.

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Oversees Administrative Services such as payroll and timekeeping, bills of collection, agreements, payment of invoices, purchase requests and orders, internal controls and audits and travel services. Recording and monitoring the park's revenues and spending, providing guidance and supervision of the staff of the administrative division to ensure account balances. Acquiring all goods and services the park requires to accomplish its mission and programs, including property management and control systems of the park. Serving as a member of the senior management team to help plan, analyze, and monitor the development of programs, procedures, operating policies, and program goals. Acting as the primary liaison with servicing human resources contacts, assuring that the Superintendent and park supervisors receive sound advice and guidance on position management, through collaboration with HR personnel. Interpreting and disseminating key human resources information, such as the application of HR laws, regulations, and policies, to various other park managers, supervisors, and employees.

In determining if your employment advances the public interest, the agency will consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service. Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized. In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated. Upon completion of your probationary period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.
